Children and Families
Children and families are an important part of our church life at Highland Covenant Church. We incorporate all ages into the life of our church. Our goal for Children and Family Ministry is:
To love children and their families by:
Inviting them to know God
Including them as full members of God’s family
Growing with them in faith
Going with them to serve in God's mission
During the Worship Service
Children of all ages are always welcome in every part of our service. We welcome their little noises and busy bodies! Colored pencils and activity guides are always available in the entry. An important piece of our worship service is the Children's Moment. All children are invited to come down front for a special moment of teaching or worship. Parents can even accompany the little ones! We want kids to know that they are a valuable part of our community.
Nursery
In the nursery, we care for the smallest members of our church family! Babies through 3-year-olds are cared for by our amazing team of staff and volunteers. Our nursery is full of fun, safe activities for babies and toddlers. Parents receive a pager when they drop off their children so we can call you if we need you during the service. Nursery care is also provided during the Sunday School hour and includes a Bible story and activities.
Children's Worship
Sundays are a time of worship, in which children are learning and responding to God's word. We begin and end our Sunday worship service together as the family of God in the Sanctuary. Children aged 3 years through 3rd grade are invited to join in our Children's Worships. If it is your first Sunday joining us, we ask you to accompany your child and complete a registration form.
After Worship
Sunday School
There is a meaningful class for your child, no matter what their age. Our children are divided into three age groups for Sunday School. Infants through two years old will explore simple Bible stories, appropriate to their age and have time for play with friends.
Mission Projects
A few times a year, we gather together to serve our community through food drives, work parties or other service projects. Kids are hungry for knowledge of the world around them and have huge hearts to help those in need. Each fall, we support Covenant World Relief through collecting coins which go to support ministries all over the world that are engaged in relief efforts.
