James Amadon — Senior Pastor
Pastor James and his family (wife Emily, daughter Mary, and sons Luke and Theodore) came to Highland in January of 2008. James loves Highland and has been impressed with how the congregation welcomes new people and serves the local community. James loves to play basketball and soccer, read a good book, play with his children, and explore the big questions of life. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership at Duke Divinity School.
Mary Peterson — Pastor of Children, Youth and Family Ministry
Pastor Mary has served at Highland since 2011. She lives in Redmond with her husband, Eric, and their two kids, Luke and Kate. They also have a grumpy cat named Paris. As a native of Texas, Mary loves Mexican food and bright, sunny days. She also loves to travel, read and spend time making new friends. Pastor Mary is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary and is ordained in the Covenant Church.
Andrea Nelson — Highland Christian School Director
Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, and her two children, Kyle and Emilie. She has lived in the Seattle area her entire life, and enjoys going to musicals, sporting events, swimming/snorkeling and Disney vacations. She is excited to serve the children and their families in the Highland community.
Tony Mullin — Worship Music Coordinator
Tony has been at Highland directing music since 2008. He finds joy in creating music and working with a such diverse group of personalities on the worship team. He also plays piano for local retirement homes. He enjoys spending time with friends and family over coffee, and listening to Coldplay, Whiteheart, and Rush.
Dave Shelton — Pastor of Congregational Care
Pastor Dave Shelton and his wife Patty have three adult children: LeeAnne, Alyssa and Dane. Dave has attended Highland Covenant Church his entire life. He loves the people at Highland and their commitment to Jesus Christ, evidenced not only in service to each other, but to community near and far. Dave enjoys football and baseball, reading, music, fishing and traveling.
Holly Bustad — Community Connector
Holly has been attending Highland since 1986. She and her husband, John, have four grown, amazing children. The people of Highland have become family, sharing in the blessings and challenges of everyday life. Holly's favorite things include music, watercolor painting, and talking with children. Jesus is her passion.
Carol Lider — Community Nurse
Carol has been attending Highland since 1994. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She has experience in Cardiac, Neonatal and Home Health Care. After taking time out from nursing to raise their boys Carol is looking forward to a new role. She believes strongly in the connection between faith and health and is excited to explore that with others. She has been married to Kirk for 30 years. They have three grown sons, Josh (married to Camille), Matt and Chris. Becky Esser — Children's Ministry Intern
Becky grew up in Redmond and attended University Presbyterian Church in Seattle with her family. She just graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Comparative Religion. Becky will begin work towards a Master of Arts in Divinity through the seminary at Seattle Pacific University. Becky enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time outdoors. She is very excited to come to Highland and work with Children's Ministry. Louise Conner — Administrative Assistant
Louise has been part of Highland since 2004. She and her husband, Craig, have three kids: Abby, Rebecca and Timothy. She loves the way the Highland community worships, learns and serves together and enjoys her role in the church office. Louise also likes to write, hike, read a wide variety of books, and watch her kids do the things they love to do.
